Werner Hölzl, Graphic-Designer and Illustrator
Born in Salzburg on June 4th,1944.
1958-62 Apprenticeship as silk-screen printer in the graphic design studio "Die Drei" in Salzburg.
1963 six months work experience at the "European Displays", studio for graphic and product design in Athens. My work included designs for the artistic outer appearance of the Greek pavillion at the 1964 World Exhibition in New York and the postcard series
"The 12 Olympians".
From 1964 free-lancer in various graphic design studios in Salzburg - especially in the studio of Prof. Rudolf Ferch. My work included carrying out designs for the ski companies Fischer and Kästle and for two Austrian breweries Brau AG und Brauerei Zipf.

Since April 1968 I am an independent, free-lance graphic-designer and artist.
Amongst my many customers are:

The Department of Culture of the Salzburg local government - including the design work for the first five state exhibitions - The Celts in Middle-Europe, Protestants in Salzburg, 1400 years celebration of the monastery of St. Peter, Archbishop Wolf Dietrich and The Bavarians - designing of logos, posters, brochures, catalogues, illustrations and exhibition boards.
Re-design of the official state coat of arms for Salzburg government.

Since 1972 I have been responsible for all packaging and advertising for Teekanne, Austria´s largest tea company including their successful expansions into Czechoslovakia and Poland.
The same for the cheese production of the dairy company Woerle Käse (one of Austria´s largest dairy - with export trade mark
"Happy Cow").
